Seems a little late to say but I've been having issues logging into the web program to get everything up to date. We are so glad that you are here looking at this page. Stay tuned for upcoming events.
Beginning band had a great time bowling on Jan. 24 and the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic students made lots of music and enjoyed some pizza with our Austin High School Directors and Students at Band-O-Rama. Jazz band ended December by playing at the Trail of Lights and recently enjoyed the hospitality of the AHS Band Parents and students at the AHS Jazz Supper Club. All the groups performed well and we look forward to our vertical team concert at Central Market on April 15. More jazz details to follow in a few weeks with other details including participating in the Austin Jazz Workshop Jazz Jubilee. Spring trip payments can now be made either by online at schoolcash or the old fashion way of cash or check (made payable to O.Henry Band). All groups will attend a spring trip. Wind Ensemble and Jazz band to Dallas and Symphonic band and Beginning Bands to Sequin in May. Payments for these trips can be split into small monthly amounts - all Wind Ensemble and Jazz band students should have $100 in their accounts this month. You can always pay the full balance of the trip at any time.

This Friday September 20th the O.Henry Pep Band will get our Round-Up started at 3:30 - Students should wear their band T-shirt to school so they are ready to Rock!
Parents joins us around the flag pole as we celebrate another year of success. Students will be allowed to change after their performance - students should tag their instrument cases and their backpacks during ACES to store them in the library once we are finished. The band hall will be closed soon after our performance - students can pick up their instruments at the end of the event. We are excited to hear you play on Friday!
Plan on arriving a few minutes early, if possible to put your instrument in your locker before the start of school. For 1st period athletes - Mr. Pinkney or Ms Boltz will be here before your practice starts to open the band hall for you to take care of your instrument too! As a General rule: When we bring instruments to school they are to be stored in your band locker for the duration of the school day. The band hall is usually open early before school to help you drop it off and instruments can be picked up each day right after school. If you ride the bus home then we will help you determine the best time of day to pick up your instrument based on your class schedule. If you will be using a large school instrument, Tuba, Horn, Euphonium / Baritone - depending on the number of students needed a school horn an additional instrument can be rented for home practice - this will be on a first come first served basis - students who ride the bus may be given preference - the rental fee is $100 for the year. If you need to work out financial assistance please talk to a director. We're here to help. Payments can be made online at: https://austinisd.schoolcashonline.com |
