Day One!

Welcome back Mustangs! It was great seeing everyone and meeting our newest members.
A couple of items.

WHEN TO BRING INSTRUMENTS TO SCHOOL:

Wind Ensemble (Period 2) - Bring Instruments to School on Thursday 

Jazz Band (Period 6) - Bring instruments to School on Thursday

Symphonic band (periods 4 & 7) - by Friday we hope to play - maybe on block day - it will be announced in class.

Beginning band classes - Monday August 27 - bring supplies and instruments to school. 

If you need a black binder - we have them in the band hall. See a director for details.

Instrument Lab Fees

We are fortunate to own many school instruments. These include Baritone Saxes, Bass Clarinets, Bassoons, Tenor Saxes, Euphoniums, French Horns, Oboes and Tubas. We try to provide an additional home use instrument for the largest instruments, with priority going to students who travel to school via an AISD bus. We also have a small supply of additional instruments such as Flutes, Clarinets, trumpets and trombones - these instruments do not come with cleaning supplies, reeds, key or valve oil, or slide cream.

Students will be issued one instrument during the first week of school once the instrument use agreement form has been signed.

The instrument lab fee of $100 for the year can be paid all at one time - due September 7 or earlier.
$50 per semester due no later than September 7 and January 11, or
$25 with payments due September 7. November 2, January 11 and March 8. 

Student's needing financial assistance should contact their director for assistance.
No student will be denied the experience due to financial reasons.

Instruments for summer use are $25 due on May 3 so instruments can be checked, repaired or cleaned prior to the summer.

Band Locker Bonus

As we gear up for the new year, we are having band locker bonus - Wednesday through Friday.
Students attending summer band will get to select their band locker and locks ahead of the class time.  We have plenty of lockers so don't worry if you can't make camp. Your locker will be here for you!

Band Camp!!!

We're in full swing with band camp in the Mustang Band Hall! It's very exciting hearing the sounds of the summer and knowing it's going to be an awesome year.

It's not too late to join us - Monday - Friday from 1:30 - 4:00 PM
Students attending transition camp are encouraged to bring a lunch to eat between transition camp and the start of band camp. The band hall will be open to allow students to drop off their instruments.

Band locker will be assigned to students attending camp on Wednesday. So if you want to pick your locker ahead of the class, come to band camp!

Band camp is for students in grades 7 & 8 who have at least one year of playing experience.
